In Home Economics we aim to ensure that all pupils who pass through the department will leave with all the necessary life skills to enable them to make informed choices and decisions in their life.
All of the pupils in Home Economics will develop practical skills to become effective contributors to society as they will have developed their practical skills through practical cookery and practical fabric skills.
Pupils in Home Economics will be successful learners, with the success they gain boosting their confidence in the abilities, skills and knowledge they have learned in their Home Economics lessons.
It is very much a 21st century subject teaching valuable lifeskills and contributing effectively to all four capacities of the curriculum for excellence. Home Economics also contributes to the principles of health and wellbeing, citizenship and enterprise.
