Everyone at Dalbeattie High School would like to welcome the following new staff to the school.
Ms Cowie – English. Ms Cowie will be joining us in her first year of teaching. She has already been to the school and is preparing for her classes when she officially joins us on the first of 2 inservice days on Tuesday 24 August
Ms Lui – Mandarin. Once again we are lucky that the Education Department has provided us with a Mandarin Teacher in Ms Lui. She also has visited the school and is presently looking for accommodation in the area. She is looking forward to working in a busy and friendly school.
Ms Donaldson – Music is replacing Ms Agnew. She is originally from Scotland but has been teaching in Surrey for thelast 2 years. She is a keen member of pipebands and is highly skilled in a variety of musical instruments. She has already spent a couple of days in the school with Ms Agnew familiarising herself with the department resources and teaching commitments.
MsTaylor – English. Ms Taylor joins us in the English Department in light of Ms Dobie retiring this summer. She was previously at Kirkcudbright Academy. She has been in the school on suppy during the month of June and is already a ‘well kent’ face in around the school.
Ms Donnelly – SFL Ms Donnelly was previously at Maxweltown High School for 0.6 (3 days) of the week. She is joining us for 3 days and will be in Wallace Hall Academy the other 2 days. Again she also has visited the school on a number of occasions in preparation for her officially beginning on Tuesday 24 August.
Ms Anderson - Social Subjects Ms Anderson will also be joining us from Maxwelltown High School. She completed her first year of teaching there and has been appointed on a temporary basis until we find a permanent replacement for Mr Sheerin who left us at the end of term.
Ms Wood - SfL will be joining us on a temporary basis assisting and ably supporting the pupils. Ms Wood has also been in school familiarising herself with the curriculum ready for a busy term in August.
Mr Spracklen – CDT is joining us on a temporary basis to allow Mr Williamson to work on CfE materials for the school in light of his recent appoint as PT CfE (acting).
