SciFun Visit Dalbeattie

He’s not all there capt’n - Scotty from Star Trek

Edunburgh University’s SCI-FUN Roadshow paid a visit to Dalbeattie High School to dazzle the first and second year pupils with science on Monday and Tuesday, 30th & 31st October.

Manager of the tour, Stuart Dunbar, was delighted to be bringing the experience to local children who do not have access to the science centres that children in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee or Aberdeen do.

He said “This tour is for the children a bit further away from the major centres and bigger towns and do not have access to science mueseums and centres.”

“ We do it for the younger high school children to try and spark an interest before they go on to choose their subjects.”

All the first and second year pupils at the school took part in the exhibition which involved talks and a chance to try lots of scientific experiments.

There was also an open night for all the catchment primary schools and their parnets with 38 attending.
